Sketching Phill from GCHQ

I have tried out different ways of creating my comic about Phill from GCHQ which, if you haven't noticed I am posting here on Steemit whenever a new page is ready. Right now I do a combination of page breakdowns and complete anarchic improvisations which actually work quite well.

Sometimes when I have some time to kill in inadequate places I have a small sketch book that I together with a shabby ball-pen use for working on immediate problems. All in all I do not adhere to too many rules with this enterprise, but relies on experience, routine, and lot of bother. A lot of the sketching simply happens when I ink... a thing that can only happen when you have a digitizer with undo and perfect erase :)

None the less I do of course make sketches on paper and I thought that it could be funny to show. Below are some random sketches (chosen because they were the least unfocused phone-photos) and the final inked drawing below.

The sex therapist- I just copied the sketch into my breakdown and worked on from there.

The historian - I tried a few things, this is the one that worked. I couldn't get it right, but then I tried to do J.R.R. Tolkien and it ended up looking like John le Carré, which was kind of perfect for a spy-comic :)
