Deployment Updates, Improved Power Downs, New Landing Page Copy

In today’s post we’d like to update the community on some of the notable recent deployments made to “condenser” the software behind Steemit.

We are all sad to see it go, but “Welcome to the Blockchain” has been replaced. New users who land on steemit.com will now see “Money talks. Your voice is worth something. Join the community that pays you to post and curate high quality content.”

Improved Power Downs

Steemit.com now allows users to power down less than 100% of their SP. When a user clicks on the “Power Down” button in their wallet, they will be taken to a page where they can select how much of their SP they want to power down. It will provide an estimate of how much STEEM will be disbursed each week.

If the power down will leave less than 5 SP in the account, it will give the user a warning:

These changes were deployed along with several other enhancements.

A Russian translation file was loaded into condenser in preparation for supporting multiple languages via translations.

Users can now use the middle click on a username and it will take them directly to the user’s blog page:

Bluepaper and Whitepaper in GitHub

The Bluepaper and Whitepaper files have been converted into LaTeX markdown format and committed to GitHub. Instructions to clone the repository and build the PDF from the markdown file are in the readme. Users will now be able to submit pull requests to the repository to update the content.
