Nowhere To Run

"My obligation is to take care of you"- she listened on her mind.

She always felt that if she had any trouble she just needed him to be safe. It was always that way before. He was warm, he showed security, and he always took care of her heart.

He said that his obligation was to protect her, but it was just a distorted truth. His real obligation was to spy her.

She was in trouble, but she couldn’t go to him because ironically, she ran away from him.

It wasn’t like the movies; there was not rain, deep thoughts, or flashbacks from the past, none of that. There was only fear, and the only thought in her mind was to run.

"Don’t make this more complicated,"- he said.

She listened to his voice from the distance, but he wasn’t as far as she wished. For the first time, she hated to never had enrolled any athletic class and to not had any experience in common sense.

Even though, she didn’t stop.

She could felt her chest almost burned, lacked air and rest. But, she couldn’t stop, a moment of rest would be her end, and it was a shame that her legs didn’t share the same thoughts.

Finally, she fell on the ground. Both of her palms and knees got injured and covered by crimson blood.

She wanted to cry, but she only allowed a few tears to slid down to her cheek.

"You always complicate my work,"- he said.

That voice made her felt a chill down her spine. She took a dip breath, but her chest pain didn’t allow her to breathe very well.

She was on her knees behind him. The one who she considered her confident, but was currently her executioner.

"Let me go, please."- She forcedly said.

There wasn't more to do than ask for mercy, it was her last card to play. Despite she wasn’t very proud of it, she had to try it because there wasn’t strength in her body to get up.

"That is not possible,"- he said with a creepy smile.

An audible sob left her mouth as a reaction to the negative response. “This couldn’t be her life, this had to be a nightmare.”- She said again and again inside her mind.

"I really liked you, I have to be honest, isn't personal,"- he said.

At that moment, she felt the pressure of the cold metal gun against her head. She closed her eyes and waited for the end.

It was the same weapon. The same one that killed her brothers. The weapon that pointed her at home. It was an achievement that she delayed that inevitable end for so long.

"This is a lesson for your father. You know, the end justifies the means,"- he said aloud without heart

It was pure irony. Just a few days ago she told him that phrase, but she never expected to hear it before her death.

"Why did you kill my family?"- she desperately asked in an attempt to gain more time. Maybe someone was around there. Even though it was a deserted road she had some hope.

"I'm sorry dear, you have to die with that doubt.”

Then, he fired the gun, and it was the end of her soul.
