Thanks to all the entries in the Sleep giveaway! There were some really really ....different... sleep schedules! I don't feel quite so terrible about my ones... although, I do feel pretty envious of those who can get decent amounts of really long and deep sleep!

This week, I was thinking about different corporate or organisational mottos. You the little catchy one liner that is supposed to help mold the view of your grouping to the general public. Perhaps the most famous one was Google's "Don't be Evil" motto, which incidentally was not too recently removed from their public facing pages.

Anyway, my question this week. Do you have some motto that you really like.. or one that your family or yourself have had for generations? Or just one that you aspire to?

NOTE: There is a slight rule change to try and fix the problem of the Bounty distribution. I'm not sure why it is happening, but on some weeks, the bounty doesn't get distributed evenly.

My Question

1. What is a motto (or more than one) that you really like? Where is it from and what does it mean to you?

My sample answer

My first motto that I have loved was the old HTC one. "Quietly Brilliant". This resonates with me so much, the fact that there are people who just do stuff, and do it well... AND feel NO need to blow their own horn. Too often, I see so many people who are much better at telling everyone how great they are... rather than just being good at what you do! In a bit of a sad twist, this motto was finally ditched, as it appeared that the public seemed to prefer to have products which screamed about how GREAT they were...

My second motto that I've always admired was the motto for the University of Western Australia. The logo "Seek Wisdom" is incorporated into the shield of arms for the University. Again, it is a phrase that resonates strongly with me. Ti be always curious, but not just to curiosity seek mere knowledge and to explore the darkness, but the wisdom and courage to apply that knowledge responsibly.

Steem Basic Income

One of the first communities that I came in contact with at the beginning of my time at Steemit was @steembasicincome. As a author starting out on your fresh new Steemit account, Steemit can be a daunting and lonely place to be. OFten, it can feel like you are posting into an abyss with no one listening and with no ability to grow out of the situation.
