Clay Art Contest 2. Entry TURTLE šŸ¢. And crafting with @littleblue!

Play, create and win!

I'm really excited about this contest.

Clay modelling a turtle!

Two of my toddler favourite things rolled into one.

Turtles and play dough.

We had fun!

His was a whole lot more creative than mine, you can check it out here.

But it got us playing together.

Which I am so grateful for. Sometimes I need to be motivated to do fun stuff and turn the TV off.

There are a number of creative contests rolling at the moment.

Steemit is a potentially engaging place.
Seeing people make the effort to interact, get involved and support each other in mutually beneficial fun projects makes for a fun platform.

Lately a serge in irrelevant bot comments and spam has depersonalised this space.

There is nothing more disheartening after putting your energy into a post that is important to you, seeing a comment pop up, getting that WOW SOMEONE WROTE SOMETHING feeling, only to discover it holds no relevance to your subject matter.

I learnt that I am not alone with this feeling when the host of this contest @josejirafa replied to my comment on his swimming post.

It's been a while since I read a comment that really connected to me, not for the sake of commenting but for to really reach out to a person. I am please to meet you...I really appreciate your comment...

It was a post about his competitive swimming, which I used to do myself.

I am getting tired of the useless comments that insult people's hard work and passion, but I don't want to engage these people / bots at all. I don't want to engage in flagging either. I want to maintain my positive space.

Something else I noticed about @josejirafa was that within his contest promotion he divulged with honesty that

It felt really degrading to host my own contest yet not be able to reward those whom I really think deserves it.

When I see a cool contest I don't notice the status of the person or check their Wallet, I just get excited for the opportunity to get involved.

But I have been there. He also wrote.

After posting, I told people I know to... just to shield me from the embarrassment.

I haven't shared this before, but when I was a noobie and took over @papa-peppers tattoo contest I got half way through the week and had no entries.

I rang my sister, made her register a user name and made her do a write up of one of her tattoos.

I was embarrassed.

I want to see people who are motivated and engaging in a positive way do well.

This contest has potential.

Anyone with childhood modelling clay / play dough memories know how much fun it is to squish and mould a creation.

Reading a proposal for something so awesome filled with doubt and self judgement is uncool.

So let's make this week a success.

For next week I have already forwarded 5SBD for the prize pool. I am withdrawing my chance at a prize due to my obvious conflict of interest as sponsor.

Get sculpting people.

If you don't have modelling clay or play dough you can easily make some cool squishy stuff from flour and water.

Here is a link to a super easy recipe.

Play is the best kind of diversion therapy.

Look what I made! šŸ˜

If you are still not quite convinced.

The turtle theme is in memory of our hosts lovely pet Aristurtle.

Let's honour Aristurtle's memory.
