I get hits on "seat in the Senate", "seat of your pants", "chair" (and other synonyms), "give up your seat on an airplane..."
As in, "I'm sorry your bill never got out of committee, Senator." "Yes, we only lost by a cHAIR."
You know, because the chair of the committee is the one who is a big, important decision maker, and also there's the saying "lose (or win) by a hair", which is supposed to mean, "only a little bit".
