DocumentZ Season 1 Recap

Apologies for not yet posting the prompt for Episode 3 guys. 12 hour shifts are harsh on the time needed to make a good post.

Let's us review together what the story is so far in DocumentZ to get the juices flowing again! I have been debating with myself what I need to do to spice things up just the right way for both the writer's and the audience.

But first thing's first - Let's look at the story so far!

Prompt for Episode 1

Tim Simmons arrives in Denver and all is still well. On his trip home (although that has not been established) there is news on the cab’s radio of mass violence in the City Centre. The cab comes to a crashing halt and the first prompt begins!
The instructions are simple. The protagonist, Tim Simmons must survive. There needs to be violence with at least one zombie death and at least one human death. The contestants also needed to make a kill with a make-shift weapon.

Our first episode winner was @jmcrouse. In her episode we got all the points we wanted. People died, Tim killed some zombies and he survived. Tim did some Zombie whacking with a tire iron! I found this to be a common sense pick-up as Tim had access to what was in nearly every vehicle.
After that there was a bit of a scatter, a climb over a chain link fence – another good idea as shambling Zombies are not expected to go on a climb. Putting distance between the highway madness and Tim, @jmcrouse led us to a Seven Eleven and purchased some items before checking out the motorbike just outside the grocery store.
Mission complete!

Taking the plot devices set down by @jmcrouse I introduced 2 named characters into the story. The brothers Clive and Rory. Clive being the petrol attendant up the road from his brother that works at the Denver jail. Universally the petrol attendant dies, on his way doing a good deed, which I thought was fairly well played out.
I had set up 4 directional objectives and then the baseline ones: Tim must survive. Tim needs a better weapon. Tim needs to show his level of empathy/apathy.
Last but not least Tim needs to make either a friend or an ally. Someone who MUST survive to see another day – to be put into the story at a later stage! I gave the question of OR. Read on to see how that ended up!

So the winner of Episode 2 was @demonsthenes. It is purely coincidental that he is married to @jmcrouse. The story that she wrote and the story he wrote were just fantastic. I have to score these two against each other. They are not the only ones that I am keeping an eye on because there are others that were close to winning these rounds as well!

What happened in this episode was just so much of awesome. There was suspense, there was action and even comedy. I am actually not going to summarize too much detail on that post because I would like you all to re-read (or read for the first time) that segment now, before the prompt for Episode 3 is out.

Get your zombie survival brains ready because I have a curve-ball waiting to be pitched!
