The Process
Astro Boy, known in Japan by its original name Mighty Atom (Japanese: 鉄腕アトム Hepburn: Tetsuwan Atomu), is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Osamu Tezuka.
Astro Boy has become one of the most successful manga and anime franchises in the world. The combined 23 tankōbon volumes have sold over 100 million copies worldwide making it the tenth best-selling manga series of all time. The 1963 anime series was an astounding success it became a mainstream hit on television in both Japan and the United States.

어렸을때 좋아했던 아톰입니다. 어찌보면 가장처음 자연스럽게 접한 인공지능 로봇인지 모르겠습니다. 스텔라 로고를 보자마자 2가지 아이디어가 떠올랐는데 하나는 우주 블랙홀에서 빠져나오는 스텔라 로고와 다른 하나아톰이었습니다. 우주는 다른 분들이 많이 표현하실 거 같아서 아톰의 필살기인 빔 캐논에 스텔라 로고를 넣어봤습니다. 이래저래 또 샌드박스에 참가해버렸네요.
완벽한 인공지능 로봇처럼 보였던 아톰에 대해 데츠카 오사무가 재미있는 이야기를 했었는데요.
"아톰은 완전하지 않습니다. 왜냐하면 악한 마음을 가질 수 없기때문이죠 "
"アトムは完全じゃない。なぜなら、悪い心を持たねぇからな。"
역시 나쁜마음과 좋은마음 두가지를 다 가지고 있어야 인간인가 봅니다.
