This is my entry post for Crypto Art & Design Challenge [Round 9: IOTA]
As inspiration for this design has become numerous geometric and seamless patterns, created over the years by a variety of different authors. As for me - one is the most influense graphic artist of is Maurits Cornelis Escher, that created many amazing hipnotic patterns, which can be viewed over and over again.
Using the Iota logo, I tried to created a seamless pattern, similar to the weaving of a cord or chain, thereby displaying the essence of the internet of things with the distributed ledger technology.
Here some steps of process:
The graphic part of Iota logotype was selected as the minimal repeating element of the pattern. Using duplication and rotation in different directions, was compilated a graphic element, which can duplicate for distribution in the pattern.
When the pattern was ready, it was centered by the area of the work format for the reinforced the effect of weaving the chain/cord and symmetry of all work.
In the final version, I added a glow effect to the distributed ledger pattern using radial gradients and added the logo to the center.
