New Sports Betting Blockchain Project | Blitzpredict

Blitzpredict.jpg

Yet another new Sports Betting Blockchain project caught my eye a couple days back. This one is called Blitzpredict and I just took the time to go trough the entire Whitepaper. Against any expectations, it actually looks like a solid project that I would really want to use myself when properly executed.

They do not aim to become an actual bookmaker, but work in a very similar way some most of the big betting brokers have evolved over the years (Sportmarket, Asianconnect, Mollybet, ...) . In the past, brokers offered mainly professional players individual accounts to some of the bigger asian bookmakers. The players could log in to their accounts and seach which one gave the best odds and take those. This was quite a hassle as things needed to go quick when following bets and having to check different online bookies wasted a huge amount of time. This problem was fixed with software that allows you to automatically take the best available odds on the market. I have been using this myself ever since it was made available quite some years back.

This is what my betting slip looks like
Sportmarket.jpg

It pretty much lists most of the serious bookmakers (see Different Bookmaker Business Models) that offer dynamic lines and allow bigger stakes without limiting winning players. When submitting the betslip, it will automatically take the best available odds at the bookmakers from the list with the liquidity from my broker. Even though Pinnacle (who is in the list) will most of the time offer the best odds, getting on average 0.01-0.02 cent higher quotes does make a difference over time if you place many bets with higher stakes.

Anyway, this is pretty much what Blitzpredict aims to do. Partner up both fiat and crypto bookmakers / prediction markets that offer smart contracts and act as a broker where the highest available odds can be taken in a very convenient way. Their Blitzpay tokens will offer the needed liquidity so bets are paid out nearly instantly.

Something else they aim to do is to "incentivize sports analytics experts and enthusiasts to share their models and contribute to community projects."

This pretty much comes down to them creating a way to allow anyone to run a betting service without a way to cheat the system. Right now betting services are the wild west and often run by people who are desperate to sell their picks as they don't actually make that much money from betting themselves. The ones that do make money themselves often are very difficult to follow profitably because of dropping odds and bookmakers that limit winning players. Blitzpredict would solve this by putting it all on a blockchain where service subscribers automatically follow the advised picks at the stakes and odds that were advised and taken by the person who is running the service.

Based on the concept alone, I would say sign me up! Based on reality though, I see every ICO by default as a scam and I need to look a lot deeper into this before I even concider thinking about investing. The first impression and early signs are overall positive. Everything looks quite professional, they are not making any bold claims and clearly talk about the Risk Factors that are involved (Read the whitepaper). I will be adding this one to my list of available Blockchain betting projects to watch...
