The National Petition Against South Korean Government Cryptocurrency Regulation Has Reached Over 215k Signatures

With the series of announcement from the members of South Korean government about regulatory measures for cryptocurrencies and exchanges, many Korean crypto investors signed petition against the government's plans.

A petition entitled "Has the government ever dreamed a happy dream for the people?” currently earned more than 215,000 signatures and still running.

According to the Blue House set rules, if a petition reaches more than 200,000 within a month, the government will respond in thirty days.

Also, another petition was formed that calls for the dismissal of the Financial Supervisory Service director Choi Heung-shik, who spreads speculation to the people.

There is currently around 38,000 people who have signed for the petition and the count is still rising.


Bitmain Considering Another Bitcoin Mining Expansion In Canada

The China's Bitcoin mining giant Bitmain Technologies is reportedly eyeing Canada for another Bitcoin mining expansion.

Bitmain has already announced a new branch in Switzerland a few days ago, and this time in Quebec, Canada with an ongoing discussions with the country's power authorities.

The expansion plans came at a time when China, the current Bitcoin mining hub which has the 70% of the network's computing power, will curb tax and power benefits.

Quebec has been a go-to location for new Bitcoin mining facilities because of its excessive cheap hydropower and the cold temperature in the region is conducive to longer lives for the ASIC mining rigs.
