A Blockchain Forum to be hosted by the U.S. State Department on October 10, 2017

To be held in George C. Marshall Center, Washington, DC, the U.S. State Department will host a Blockchain Forum this coming October 10, 2017.

It will joined by some U.S. government offices and some from the private sector in a one-day workshop arranged by the Blockchain@State, the new working group launched in June 2017 by the U.S. State Department.

The goal of the event is to explore the policy implications and potential applications of the technology within the context of the diplomatic efforts of the U.S.

They will also be talking about tracking Blockchain developments and keeping informed about new applications of the technology.

Participating companies are IBM, Microsoft, Consensys, Pricewaterhouse and many other firms.

Participating companies will also present some of their blockchain projects in the forum.

Zimbabwe, an African country is currently experiencing an economic turmoil and since Bitcoin is already available in the country, it has been the recourse of people looking for financial safety.

The economic crisis includes food and fuel shortages across the country and the nation's currency is practically worthless.

The country's central bank is also exhausting the reserves of individual forex markets.

These lead to people look for other ways to store value such as hoarding food, gasoline, medical supplies and money.

The people sees Bitcoin as a safe haven for their money amid this economic crisis happening in their country.
