Hyperledger and Ripple to reunite for an Interledger Project
The two companies were once partnering on the same project but due to differing opinions on the design of the blockchain, (Hyperledger focuses on a private blockchain while Ripple is into public blockchain), they both departed ways.
A system integration company in Japan called NTT Data seems to be the bridge to reunite the two companies.
NTT has been working with Ripple since July 2016 on Ripple's new open-source interledger protocol using Java.
Ripple and NTT submitted the results of their collaboration to Hyperledger, which is lead by NTT.
This project, if admitted, could create a bridge to connect all Hyperledger's open-source codebases, including Burrow, Fabric and Sawtooth.
AXA uses Ethereum Blockchain for its Newest Product
AXA is as insurance company which originated in France. It launched a new flight delay insurance product which uses the Ethereum Blockchain to store & process payouts.
They call the product as “Fizzy” and is considered as a “smart insurance”.
Fizzy is a tool that users can use to insure their trips whenever their flight is delayed by 2 hours or more.
Ethereum blockchain will be of aid in maintaining an accessible data record of the insurance contract itself inside an Ethereum smart contract and a mechanism to trigger the payment to the client once the 2-hour mark is passed.
Also, AXA plans to include infemnification and payment in Ether in the near future.
