Tim Berners-Lee, Inventor of the World Wide Web to Speak in the Upcoming SWELL Conference hosted by Ripple

The event will be held in Toronto, Canada on October 16 to 18, 2017 which will bring together leaders from the banking and blockchain industry who are committed to revolutionize the way the world moves money today.

Experts and notable people from the payments and remittance industry will discuss trends, blockhain success stories and real-world blockchain use cases to meet the changing demands of customers for international payments.

One of the announced speakers is Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the Inventor of the World Wide Web.

Sir Tim Berners-Lee, also known as TimBL is an English computer scientist and engineer, and best known for his invention in 1989 where he implemented the first successful communication between HTTP client and server through the internet.

He intended the web to be freely available to all and is now dedicated to protecting and enhancing the web's future.

He is the Founding Director of World Wide Web Foundation that ensures that the web serves humanity through establishing it as a global basic right and public good.

Also, he is the Director of the World Wide Web Consortium or W3C, an organization that sets global web standards to ensure long term growth of the web, which he founded in 1994.

He is currently leading the W3C to establish online payment standards which includes Bitcoin.

TimBL has quite the reputation and is someone to look forward to in this type of events in the world of cryptocurrencies.
