Russia believes the time has come to adopt the development of its own state digital currency, according to an official of the government.

Olga Skorobogatova, head of the Bank of Russia, gave further information at the Petersburg International Economic Forum.
All the more surprising are the currently very aggressive statements by Skorobogatova:
"Regulators of all countries agree that the time has come to develop national digital currencies [.] That is the future. Every state will recognize this over time. Once the pilot projects have been completed, we will have a better understanding of how the system works that we want to use for our national currency. "
