Leading Cryptocurrency Exchanges

Today I will be going through top exchanges you can use to buy, invest, and trade cryptocurrencies in and I will be talking about the features of each exchange. Please note that the below exchanges are not arranged according to any ranking criteria as each of the exchanges will have their own advantages and disadvantage compared to one another. Some exchanges do not support transaction to or from certain countries so you may have to try out the different exchanges to see what works for you.

Coinbase

If you have not already seen the charts in Coinbase, they are very neat and easy on the eyes. It is also easy to use, which is especially true for people who are just starting out with buying and trading/investing. The user-interface is well designed for beginners who are not familiar with placing buy and sell orders on exchanges in general. You can also transfer your funds from Coinbase to GDAX in order for you to start trading. GDAX provides a "full-featured" user-interface that includes setting limit-orders which experienced investors/traders can use.Coinbase is also insured unlike many other exchanges. This means that in the event a hack occurs in Coinbase's server and all the money has been stolen, your money will be recovered through an insurance that Coinbase has. So in reality you will not have lost your money in the end. However, if you happen to be hacked due to your own fault and negligence, or even simply a hack that occurs through your personal account, you will not be insured and you can risk losing your money as it is your responsibility to keep your account safe.In order to ensure you have the tightest security on your account at Coinbase, please use Two-Factor Authentication to prevent account hacks and prevent losing your money. If you would like to start using Coinbase, you can click here to register and get $10 worth of bitcoins upon registering.

Bitstamp

Bitstamp has lower fees than Coinbase, which vary depending on which country you are wire transferring from up to 0.05%. You can deposit using any currency as it will be converted to the selected balance currency free of charge by Bitstamp. It takes 2-5 days to complete a wire transfer process in Bitstamp for countries not in SEPA. That being said, Bitstamp should accept transactions from most countries around the world.Bitstamp also accepts credit card purchases, however, the fees for credit card purchases are quite high from 5% to 8% depending on how much you purchase. The less amount you purchase the higher the fees are. This means that if you are trading you would probably want to aim to sell at a 10% increase in value every time to cover the costs.

Bitfinex

Bitfinex uses TradingView charts (TradingView is a financial charting site), which allows you to setup your charts; adjusting time-frame, adding technical indicators to the chart, and it allows you to use charting tools. Not all these features are available in GDAX, Coinbase, and Bitstamp. Bitfinex also allows you to customize your interface such as the chart interface, layout, order book, tables, tickers and even the theme of the overall interface.

Final Thoughts

The above-mentioned are few of the leading cryptocurrency exchanges available today for you to use. Nevertheless, you may need to use other exchanges that were previously mentioned here like Binance to buy and trade cryptocurrencies that are not available in most exchanges, such as GAS. For your own convenience you can find out which exchanges cryptocurrencies are trading at in CoinMarketCap
