🗞 Hash Wars: BCH Community Evaluates Six Days of Battle
The Bitcoin Cash (BCH) blockchain split on Nov. 15 and the community are still discussing the subject at great length. Since the chain splintered into two separate networks, additional trading platforms like Coinbase and Bitstamp have re-established BCH markets by choosing to list the ABC chain with the exchange ticker “BCH.”
It’s been close to a week since the fork on Nov. 15 and the ongoing hash war has caused major debate and mixed emotions. According to Coin Dance statistics, there have been 852 blocks mined since the consensus rules changed and the ABC chain is six blocks ahead. Further, the owners of Coin Dance have deemed the ABC chain as the winner of the BCH name and now refer to the chain as Bitcoin Cash (BCH). Statistics also show that BCH has 44% more proof-of-work (PoW) than the BSV network. At the time of publication, both chains have roughly 4,000 PH/s or 4 exahash worth of hashrate apiece. However, this metric has fluctuated wildly and the averages are harder to gauge over a short period of time.
🗞 Norway Ends Power Tax Subsidy for Bitcoin Miners
The Norwegian government has scrapped a power subsidy currently granted to bitcoin miners.
According to a report from local news outlet Aftenposten, in its state budget, the government said that cryptocurrency miners in the country will have to pay normal electricity tax from the New Year.
At the moment, larger mining firms receive the same electricity tax discount as other power-intensive industries in the country. Those with a capacity of more than 0.5 megawatts are charged only 0.48 øre ($0.00056) per kilowatt hour instead of the standard rate of 16.58 øre ($0.019). An øre is 100th of a Norwegian krone.
🗞 There Is No ‘Bitcoin’: What the SEC Doesn’t Get About Cryptocurrency
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has been gone to significant lengths in an attempt to understand the crypto asset space. This effort is to be applauded. However, the SEC has failed to come to terms with one fundamental aspect of crypto assets and systems.
Namely, properly constructed crypto systems do not involve “persons” or “entities” and do not represent a form of property. For this reason, they do not have any analogue in the traditional financial world, nor can they fall under financial regulation.
In the traditional financial world, assets are a claim on a specific property. For example, a commodity, shares in a company or a debt owed.
🗞 Celebrities And Crypto: Thanksgiving In Purgatory
Gather around the table, everyone, dinner's ready! It's so nice to have you all here. You'll find your spot designated with a cute little name tag on each plate. Now, now, Craig Wright, what do you think you're doing at the adult table? Maybe next year.
Alright, so now that you're all in the right spots, there's one more thing to do before we dig in to our Thanksgiving feast. I know you don't all know each other, but boy did you all have a big year in the crypto world. And I figured, just to get the awkward "Hi, where are you from?" out of the way, we could unpack what happened; really get down to the nitty-gritty of, oh, let's say, five particularly eyebrow-raising, chin-rubbing, head-scratching moments you all gave the crypto world in 2018.
🗞 Japan: Zaif Exchange Handover Complete as Previous Owner Vows to Dissolve Company
Tech Bureau, the company that formerly operated hacked Japanese cryptocurrency exchange Zaif, has completed its handover to buyer Fisco Cryptocurrency Exchange (FCCE), Cointelegraph Japan reported Nov. 22.
FCCE, which agreed to take over proceedings in October, will now assume responsibility for compensating users who lost money in the hack, which occurred Sept. 20 and involved funds worth around $60 million at the time.

STEEM Trading Update by my friend @cryptopassion
Here is the chart of yesterday :
Here is the current chart :
The STEEM is currently in consolidation after the last drop. We have the start of a triangle pattern but I think the pattern is less clean than on the BTC so I didn't traced it. You can check the triangle that I traced on the BTC to have an idea for the STEEM. Will the break out will be a UP or a DROP, no one can be sure so prepare yourself for it and follow the trend.
