Yes, Max Power likes to go sky-high as soon as he get's the chance!

Today I'm taking you to another beautiful island I was lucky to discover, Bali Island in Indonesia.
I visited Bali with my brother and another friend to try out some sport German people usually are not that good at, surfing. I had tried it a few times before when I was in Australia and New Zealand and I wanted to give it another shot.

We stayed at Rapture Surfcamp in Padang Padang on the Bukit peninsula which is at the southern end of Bali Island.
The whole area is known for excellent surfing spots and a great swell which attracts surfer from all around the world.
It is not as green as the rest of the Island, you will find a much drier and rocky landscape, although the coastline can be very spectacular, from quiet sandy coves or busy surfing beaches to breathtaking cliffs.

Even I can't say I made it beyond the beginner level I always enjoy being close to the sea and in the water. This combined with some sporting activities made for a great trip.

Since surfing is a very demanding sport and you always need to check the tides for the right timing we had some time to explore the surrounding areas and other regions of the Island.
On one of our excursions we found a nice area called Dreamland Beach which is located on the northern side of the Bukit peninsula.

That day we took it quite easy but there is always the moment you want to let out all your emotions and feelings.

Heute entführe ich euch zu einer weiteren Insel, die ich glücklicherweise auf meinen Reisen besuchen durfte, Bali in Indonesien.
Ich war dort mit meinem Bruder und einem weiteren Freund und wir haben etwas versucht, wofür wir Deutschen eigentlich nicht so berühmt sind, Surfen. Ich hatte vorher schon in Australien und Neuseeland mich am Surfen versucht und wollte dem Ganzen eine weitere Chance geben.

Während unseres Aufenthaltes waren wir im Rapture Surfcamp in Padang Padang auf der Bukit Halbinsel, welche am südlichen Ende von Bali gelegen ist. Diese Gegend bietet ausgezeichnete Surfspots und eine großartige Dünung und ist für Surfer schon lange kein Geheimtip mehr.
Dort ist es nicht so grün wie im Rest der Insel, die Gegend ist viel trockener und steiniger aber auch hier findet man eine abwechslungsreiche Küste, stille Sandbuchten, Strände voller Surfer aber auch steile spektakuläre Klippen.

Ich kann wirklich nicht behaupten, dass ich beim Surfen über den Anfängerstatus hinausgekommen bin, aber ich liebe es mich am und im Wasser aufzuhalten. Die sportlichen Aktivitäten dazu machten das ganze dann zu einer spitzen Reise.

Da Surfen ein sehr anstrengender und fordernder Sport ist und man auch immer die Gezeiten im Auge haben muss, hatten wir auch Zeit uns in der Gegend und in anderen Landstrichen der Insel umzusehen. Einer unsere Ausflüge hat uns an einen Ort geführt, der Dreamland Beach heißt und im Norden der Bukit Halbinsel liegt.

An diesem Tag hatten wir es etwas ruhiger angehen lassen aber es gibt immer den einen Augenblick, an dem man alle seine Emotionen und Gefühle herauslassen muss.

Surfing is really some sport I recommend everybody to try. It's very challenging since you are always in action, you will need all your power for paddling, trying to stand up and keeping the balance. And as soon as you fall down, you will need to start it all over again. But look at the environment where you can practice that, awesome!

Or course Dreamland beach caters for other needs too, there are hotels and small pensions around and beach bars and restaurant to serve you in a very relaxed atmosphere.

I will introduce more of this beautiful island in future posts, together with other great places I came across on my never-ending journey around this wonderful planet.
