Upcycling A Bed, My upcycling project.

Hiya friend,

What do you normally do with your old bed?

Normally it gets either taken away when your new bed comes or it ends up at the tip, so I decided to do something with this old bed.

The bed belonged to my 5 year old daughter it was a mid sleeper with ladders going up to the bed and she liked it but she sometimes struggles to get to sleep unless there is someone next to her to give her a cuddle.

A friend of ours has given her a brand new double bed and yesterday it came and it needed putting up straight away so she could use it last night.

An hour and it was down and the new bed was up, so the problem I had then was what to do with her old bed, it sat in the yard waiting to either go to the tip or be burned.

This morning I woke and looked out of the window to see it was a nice day, you know one of them days where the birds are singing the sun is shining.
And I looked at where I wanted to grass and decided that I wanted a fence to box the grass into make it look more tidy.

So that is what it turned into, a bed in to a fence.

all it took was a hand saw and a screwdriver a few screws and nails and some back braking digging to put up.

I then had a thought, it's coming to winter and it will be cold and raining and wood does not like that when its dry wood, so I decided to help it and treat it with some fence paint to make it so it lasts through winter.

So if you have an old wooden bed why not do something with it instead of it making it to the tip, it is better to be reused then be junk that is taking up space in our landfill.

until next time my friends
