DIY flagstone walkway part two

In the first picture you will see how my renters left the property when I found it IMG_4562.PNG
Photo number two shows the many bags of sand needed to level and secure the flagstone IMG_4561.PNG
First you will want to go in and level out the area you plan on using. Line the sides with brick paversIMG_4560.PNG
Next step is to take the biggest pieces of flagstone and randomly stagger them and continue filling in with smaller piecesIMG_4558.PNG

After you have placed the flagstone and achieved the desired look take the bags of sand and pour on top of the flagstone. I have found it is easier to do it this way then to try and level and place as you go. Once all the sand has been poured you can lift up the pieces of flagstone that are lower than the others and let the sand fill in underneath to get a level walkwayIMG_4552.PNG
After everything is level you will want to come through with a broom and sweep off the walkway and make sure all of the cracks are completely filled inIMG_4553.PNGIMG_4551.PNG
Once this is complete you will be ready for the concrete to secure all the rocks in place. Come back and check on me in a few weeks and I will have updated photos of the completed project!
