I made this fire surround for a client of mine.
They wanted something with traditional proportions and detail but they wanted it simplified to suit their modern barn conversion.
The central tablet would normally have a carved motif with this style but to keep things simple I just chose some really wild quarter sawn grain.
This photo has been scanned as it is quite old.
