Well, hello there!

Since apparently, I suck at shitposting, here is a video I made during a recent visit to the print workshop.
Enjoy it, while I try to recover from my art block (good luck with that haha).

Printing... ah don't you love it? Remember all those times, when a printer would eat up the paper, right that moment when you have no time? Or how it complains about the lack of the magenta ink, even if you are printing in black and white?

Printers are like little complaining drama queens. There is always something wrong or not enough and they just can't get over it.

Whoever invented them, probably never tried lithography.

Lithography is a process of printing an image or text on paper, using a polished limestone and oil, fat or wax (anything that repels water).
After the stone is polished (very zen experience, which I can't do because of my hand injury), you can make a drawing using an oil-based material. Hand cream and your pasta sauce will do it as well. You can even use your face if you don't wash for a week :D (ewww).

Then the surface is treated with acid and gum arabic. The parts of the stone which aren't protected with the grease are lightly corroded.

Before the actual print, the stone is moistened with water which then repels the oil-based paint, leaving a print on the paper. Tada!!!

I have yet to make my print, but here is the drawing I've made on the stone:

Alright, enough for today, I'll go try to do something about my art block.

Later!
