Mellow Yoga Flow for Beginners

It's a grey and mellow day @gardenofeden - perfect for a little yoging!

TBH my flow wasn't that mellow, but my recording device malfunctioned just as things were getting juicy.

Oh well, it's perfectly imperfect as is!

This is a great sesh for a beginner to follow along, so allow me to outline the flow:

  1. Say a prayer/set an intention for your practice
  2. Nauli kriya to engage uddiyana bandha and massage the internal organs (more in an upcoming post)
  3. Sun salutation A X3. Feel free to throw in a backbend when you come up if you feel like it!
  4. 3 legged down dog, hold until you're done, then transition to fallen star
  5. Vinyasa to the other side, repeat 3 legged down dog into fallen star
  6. Vinyasa into child's pose

From there I did a headstand series and a bunch of other stuff that is now lost to the sands of time, so there's no point in reiterating any of it here.

Would you like me to break down these poses for you? Remember that it's all about the breath - every motion is tied to an inhalation or exhalation, and each pose is held for at least 5 breaths.
