What the heck did I get myself into!?
When I first heard of Steemit, I had no clue what I was about to get myself into. Like many others, I seen the potential Steemit had and the positive outcome it could have on my life.
So.....SIGN ME UP!
I was so incredibly eager to jump right on the Steemit train. I made my account and immediately I got my email stating that I would receive another email when my account was approved.
Then the dreaded wait began. I checked my email non-freaking-stop for days. 6 days to be exact. On day 6, I was locked and loaded.
THE WAIT ✋
You see, at first I thought the 6 day wait was pure bs. Way to get discouraged, right?
WRONG
There were several bonuses to the dreaded wait.
Since I wasn't able to actually write a blog, I spent my time brainstorming ideas for myself. Which I still have a list of blog ideas written down in my Steemit notebook.
That was bonus #1.
Next, I spent my time lurking on Steemit. Something that I highly suggest all minnows do. Steemit is not Facebook. It shouldn't be treated as such. I read many do's and dont's post. Before my account was even approved I had gained some knowledge of what to do and not to do.
Here are some quick tips
- do not spam in any way, shape or form
(Yes, reposting your own work is considered spam) - do not use another individuals words without giving them credit
- write valuable content
- do not be an overkill
- use relevant tags

Those are just some quick tips. I will get into the nitty gritty details on tips I've learned another day.
That was bonus #2.
The next thing I did was creep. The only time in my life that being a total creep could possibly pay off. I went through so many Steemian profiles. I looked for the successful post and took my own tips and tricks for becoming like them but in my own way. I asked myself many questions during these creep sessions that I went on.
My main question :
What makes this post so successful?
From there I was able to take notes. The style in which these incredible Steemians wrote. The high dollar topics. Simple and sweet or long in-depth post. The tags that have the most post.
I'm sure that you get the idea by now. Besides, you would need to take your own notes and ask your own questions in order for you to gain the most out of your experience here.
personalize your experience
That was bonus #3.
Tip of the day!
You can find out who creeps on you
In the top right corner of your Steemit dashboard, there will be 3 small horizontal lines.
Click on the Steemit App Center. This will take you to Steem Tools.
Next, search for UPVOTERS
You will then need to input your screen name.
After that you will easily find who has Upvoted you. Everything is in one place. It is a very convenient way to see who your biggest supporters are.
I also want to share with you a Steemian that I was inspired by from the start.
Check out those followers!
I then went onto several post to see if I could learn any tips and tricks from her. It was no surprise to me to see her pure dedication to Steemit. That is where I desire to be one day!
P.s. you rock! @purepinay
So, there you have it. My two cents for the day.
