Sophie's the Town's Pop Star

True, she's a sheep, but that doesn't make her soft wool and sweet singing voice any less attractive to the people in town. She dreams of being a world-wide famous pop star and works hard by strutting her stuff and caroling everywhere.

I felt like drawing something a bit anime this time. Especially when the topic this week is STAR + SHEEP + TOWN! I also actually find it really hard to doodle without doing some colouring, especially when its a contest haha!! Anyway, here's Sophie! Doodle Doodledayeo!

PROCESS

1. SKETCH

Starting off with the sketch, I wanted her pose to be very cutesy. So I gave her a wink with her finger pointing in the air! Idol!! I start with blue sketch lines for the overall body and BG, then red for the clothes because it can get confusing if the lines are in the same colour.

2. OUTLINE

Outlining with thicker lines.

3. CLOTHING COLOUR

I coloured the clothes first to get a sense of the colours she's wearing and how balanced it is. I used bright christmassy red and blue for the sky!

4. FLAT BACKGROUND

To colour her white wool hair, I had to paint the background a darker colour so that I can actually see where I'm colouring.

5. SKIN + SHOES (ANYTHING UNDER THE 'CLOTHES' LAYER)

Pink-ish skin and very colourful socks for the bright girl.

6. STARS

More solid stars to enhance her personality.

7. BACKGROUND

The background is very rough, but using darker than the subject. With bright white snow and colourful lights for a nice homey feel for the town!
