Introduction
This is my 2nd entry because I am all pumped up with this challenge. I find it very edgy and alluring to see a woman in deep thoughts. Particularly if the woman is a woman of stature. In this picture, the woman seemed to be troubled by something that she may not be able to solve, it is captivating and mystifying at the same time to me as an artist. I am not able to share my feelings in writing but maybe my art has a better way to tell this story than me.
Just like what my friend did in his previous post @aurah, the idea of referencing is one very important aspect of our art. We need references and it is not always that we create ideas out of thin air. Be it our dreams, our subconscious or our daily lives and experiences. Our art is a reflection of us and our interpretation of our subject.
I first start with the background which is pretty common technique for many artists. Its like a no brainer that a backdrop would be the first thing to create on the canvas.
This is the entire drawing sequence. I am not sure if I project that anguish and angst in this subject. I feel strongly about it. I hope my piece does justice to her.
