Use STEEM for Good, as Well as Making Money
STEEM can be used for a lot of good, it is not just about the money you can make, but what you can do with that money.
In Venezuela for example, their monthly wage is the equivalent to a hours wage here in the UK and at the moment there is 4 hour queue to get 15,000 Venezuelan bolivar out of the bank. That might seem like a lot, but when you find out that a loaf of bread is 20,000 Venezuelan bolivar, you begin to see why this country is in dire straits at the moment.
What has this got to with STEEM?
YouAreHOPE
Well there are people like STEEM witness @sircork who has set up STEEM’s first humanitarian charity, YouareHOPE, where HOPE means Help-Opportunity-Purpose-Empowerment. I used to joke that he named it after me, but someone took me seriously so I don’t say that anymore.
A charity based on STEEM is just an amazing concept, or any giving as it is completely transparent being on the blockchain, everything is recorded, whereas charities that are ‘traditionally run’, it is not always so obvious if the majority of the money goes to the need it supports, or into the pockets of the CEOs.
YouAreHOPE uses the SBD donated and takes it too the countries where it is needed, like Venezuela, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Nigeria and Ghana through Agents of HOPE, dedicated Steemians in these countries who deliver food, aid and supplies to those who need it. And the donation through to being out on the street is documented from start to finish, with photos of the people being giving the help on the street.
He has found STEEM to be a community full of compassionate people who want to help.
He shares more about this and his STEEM story in this audio interview (Click on the Picture)…

It’s All About STEEM Communities
There are plenty of people like him who can see the good that STEEM can do for communities all over the world. @Pennsif has many a great idea he’d like to encourage and see implemented on a local community level, he was once behind a large social network that was quite successful, until Facebook claimed the crown, so he knows his stuff and is already encouraging local meetups in Wales to gather Steemians in the area.
Some other people's’ idea of giving back may include sharing information that has made them successful on STEEM, or providing quality information in posts that benefits the reader.
We are all candles and can light the way somehow.
As well as the perfect platform for making money, STEEM is also the perfect platform to give back too.
