The Creative Blockchain Steemit Meetup Workshop - Brooklyn, NYC @Womp studios

Watch The Creative Blockchain Steemit Meetup Workshop - Brooklyn, NYC @Womp studios video on DTube

Last night I had a chance to get over to Brooklyn right after work so I could attend the Creative Blockchain Meetup with @hansikhouse and @voronoi of the @sndbox team, with @andrarchy of the Steemit inc team there to help share information.

While I had initially thought to capture sound to share what they said, their work/art space houses several pieces of large machinery, from 3D printers to what look like teleportation devices, and the sound they made prevented any reliable sound from being captured.

Instead I thought I would share a recap and some images of the very cool @womp studios.

The guys covered:

  • What Steemit is and the basic essentials of how it functions.
  • What kind of projects have evolved through the platform, such as Steem Park, which may soon open a new park in Korea... at least if the indomitable @roychoi gets his way (Hi roychoi :)).
  • They discussed curation teams like Curie, and the killer apps like Zappl and dtube.video that will help continue to expand the cryptocurrency social media space.
  • The new Hardfork Series was also referenced, and if you aren't familiar with what this extremely talented and experienced team is going to do, then read This

I would say that the Q&A portion of the evening lasted the longest which tells me that everyone present was really engaged and curious and wanted to know more.

The questions raised ranged from the simple (Where does the money for the reward pool come from?) to the more advanced (How do you guarantee a peg when market forces are unpredictable), so it's clear some people came to the Meetup having checked out Steemit a bit before.

While I had to leave straight from work to make it there, and though I didn't get home until nearly midnight and was back up at 6am, it was all worth it. The energy that was in that room was excited, curious and friendly. That's what Steemit is like, too, most of the time.

Anyway, enjoy the video! I hope everyone is enjoying Dtube as much as I am.

EDIT: Somehow this video did not post correctly, nor will the thumbnail load. I believe I did everything right, It's exactly what I did for my first video...

Guess I'll chalk this up to the beta status of dtube, but I still want to share this video and I'm curious if my edit here will show up on dtube too so here's another link so you can see some WOMP goodness!

Hopefully I can dig up if there was an error I made in uploading or if this is indeed just beta tech still coming online
