On this day I probably set a personal record high for number of hours of video games played in a single day. (And I didn't film ANY of it!) We played Divinity 2 for a few hours in the morning and then from something like 9pm to 2am STRAIGHT. We finally beat one of the more difficult battles so we could go sleep in peace.
We are very much still in a lazy holiday mode. Darren sprained his ankle skiing, Nash's mom is sick, and Ralph is still recovering from his surgery so things are moving pretty slow. We fixed a couple bugs in our program, but didn't progress very far. I ate a lot (Nash and I split a risotto at the restaurant) and exercised little. I'm starting to feel pretty guilty - I'm afraid that I'm proving everyone's perception of me as an unemployed bum.
But there's definitely a lot of joy in reading in the window seat by the fireplace, playing with a giant stuffed buffalo, and exploring an imaginary video game world alongside some of my favorite people. Any work I do, even making these "just for fun" videos, only takes away from my time with them. So I've switched my priorities to co-op games and fireside chats for the rest of the year.
Oh, and the cover image reference comes from this beautiful series based on the movie Buffalo Rider, which is the thing my dreams are made of:
