A funny thing happens when you have choices. There was an entire giant section of salsas in the grocery store, dozens of brands each with multiple flavors. I spent way too long trying to find the one that was just the right amount of spicy. If there had been only a few, I would have made my pick without thinking twice about it. Fortunately, Mrs. Renfro's Habanero Salsa was delicious, so while I lost some time I got something awesome out of it.
We did a good job on our program's architecture today, but it was hard getting Nash to stop. Here's how the conversation went:
Me: Well, I'm going to put on some music and dance until you stop.
Nash: Music, man?
Me: The Music Man? That's what you want to listen to? Ok!
Then we ended up not only listening to the soundtrack but watching half of the 1962 movie The Music Man (I didn't even know there was a movie, let alone two movies!)
I love musicals in all their cheesy goodness. It seems a shame that real life doesn't operate that way (except in those special sing-along spaces that are cars and showers). Watching Nash and Spencer create Vest-Pocket Musicals makes me want to learn how to sing and improvise as well... Then we could start getting more and more people involved with the project until we end up with something like Improv Everywhere's Musicals in Real Life. Here's a seasonally-appropriate episode for those of you who aren't familiar:
I'll get right on that after growing my tech startup and writing a novel and living in a bunch of countries and starting an animal sanctuary... Sigh life's too short.
