Welcome back to the EmojiPoetry Challenge ππ! If youβre new to the concept, itβs a contest where everyday Steemians can create poetry and translate it into emojis for a chance to win SBD prizes. If you're not sure what that might look like, check out #emojipoetry for a few examples. Here are the rules (with a few tiny adjustments since last week):
- Write an original poem in words and translate it into emojis or (vice versa)
- Create a post that features both versions of your poem
- Tag your post with the hashtag #emojipoetry
- Put a link to your post below in the comments
- Upvote AND Resteem this post
- Vote for at least one entry other than your own
The first change to the rules has to do with 'originality'. Your poem can be inspired by another poem and can contain parts of that other poem but you have to add something significantly original to it so that it's clear you've made something new βοΈ.
The second change has to do with voting. Judging is based on a COMMUNITY VOTE π (i.e. all Steemians are allowed to vote, whether they have entered the contest or not). However, when there aren't that many votes, I end up having to judge the contest π«. That's why I'm making voting a requirement. You can still vote on as many entries as you like (including your own) but you canβt vote on any entry more than once and you must vote on at least one entry other than your own. To vote for someone, just reply to the link to their entry with a "π"(right below in the comments of this post).
There has been a whole lot of positivity in this contest though. Contestants write inspiring things to each other and to me and there's been lots of love all around π. You guys are great π. I'd also like to thank the minnows π πwho upvote their support, the whales π³ and dolphins π¬ who splash by every once in a while and everyone π‘ π¦π£ who's about to give this contest a try. Without all of you, there'd really be no point. Why do I feel like I'm forgetting something...?
THE PRIZES!
Right! Winners get a fixed SBD prize along with a percentage of the SBD this post makes as follows:
π₯ 1st place: 3 SBD and 30%
π₯ 2nd place: 2 SBD and 20%
π₯3rd place: 1 SBD and 10%
That leaves 40% of the SBD from this post which gets split among all entrants, winners included. If you submit an entry that follows all the rules, some of the SBD is yours, it's that simple. If you've been thinking about entering, this could be your week. And even if you're not going to enter, your vote could help your favourite EmojiPoet win π! I have no clue what anyone will come up with this week but I'm excited to see all of the entries. Have an awesome week and...
