The Enigma Data Market Place is almost ready
This is a big breakthrough and represents a milestone in the Enigma project. In fact, this is the moment that Enigma has gained a very high utility value. Just as Steem has utility value by producing content from the masses for consumption, this data marketplace allows something even more interesting which is the ability to begin contributing data sets via Enigma which can be used by Enigma Catalyst. In addition, you will be able to make a profit by providing this data so this is also an opportunity to earn by selling data either by way of subscription or other means.
As a major step forward in development, we are excited to announce that we have launched the Enigma Data Marketplace contract on the Ethereum testnet. The Enigma Data Marketplace — powered by ENG utility tokens — will initially serve Catalyst, our professional platform for data-driven cryptoasset trading and investment. When fully deployed on the mainnet, this will mark the completion of Phase 1 on the Enigma roadmap.
We could be weeks away from launch on the mainnet and from there Enigma will be in use. When Enigma is in use this will boost demand for the ENG token similar to how on Steem there is demand for Steem. The data market requires the ENG token so that data providers can be rewarded by data consumers. This market for data will also attract traders who seek to have an edge in an economic environment where quality information is very low. When the privacy feature is added then a lot of uncertainty will be removed because algorithms will be able to know (in theory) what South Korea, China, and other countries are planning to do, without revealing the data.
