I might be wrong, but I think this leaf is a relative of maple tree. The shot was taken on sunny winter day in Boboli Gardens, Florence, Italy. The place that suddenly exceeded all my expectations.
And to add some mood to this post, I will share with you a piano music which name is obviously related to the photo and the caption - "Mapple Leaf Rag". This is one of my favorite things by Scott Joplin. Besides, Martin Spitznagel performs it in the most original and amazing way, one of the best cover IMHO.
Oh, and red is also well-presented :))
