John drove home but he couldn't stop thinking about Julian. His mind kept on drifting back to the little house where Julian lived. He has never seen a house quite like it. It was the weirdest thing to see this little house in the middle of nowhere.  It fit Julian's personality perfectly but he didn't know that people even built houses like that in the city.

George phoned him on the way home and mocked him with some more jokes about him and Julian.

"I'm telling you George, there's absolutely nothing going on between us. There's something weird about this girl. I can't quite put my finger on it yet, but I can feel it. Something is not normal here."

"Argghh John you just can't see a good thing even if it is right in front of you. You need to make the first move, that girl is so into you."

"You're wrong, but from experience I know that it's pointless to argue with you. I'll see you tomorrow George."

He threw the phone on the seat next to him, and was suddenly quite annoyed with everything. He decided to stop for a drink on his way home, and ordered a double whisky on the rocks.  The mere thought of Julian drove him absolutely crazy and he realized that he had to do something about it soon. She was messing around with his head and he didn't like it.

He arrived at home and poured himself another whisky. He loosened his tie and grabbed the phone book. He had to find out everything he could about Julian, and there was only one way to do this.

He found the number of a private investigator and dialed the number. He made an appointment for early the next morning.  If no one else believed him, an outsider will.

John woke up bright and early the next morning. He skipped breakfast and drove straight to his office. He grabbed Julian's personal file, and then left to meet the investigator. All the information he had on Julian was in this file. He told the investigator everything that he knew. The investigator assured him that he would do a backround check that same day and that he would give him feedback as soon as he knew anything.

On his way back to the office he stopped for a quick breakfast and some coffee. The rest of the day went smoothly although he was not at the office much. At four o'clock he stopped in front of the office building after visiting all the new building sites.  Julian had left already and he found all his proposals neatly typed on his desk.

He switched on his laptop to check his emails, and was just about to check the proposals, when his cellphone rang. It was the investigator.

"I have some interesting feedback for you.  Can you come see me in the morning?"

"Sure I'll be there. Same time?"

"Yes, just after 7h30.  I'll be waiting for you ...oh and John, just make sure of that address you gave me. There is no address like that in the city, perhaps you made a spelling mistake but I am hundred percent sure that that address doesn't exist. "

John was totally puzzled an decided to drive by Julian's house just to confirm and used the previous information from the GPS.  For some reason the GPS did not save any coordinates, but John knew exactly where to turn.  He drove around for nearly half an hour.  He drove up and down every street in that area but it seemed like the investigator was correct.

The house where he dropped off Julian the previous night did not exist.  It was nowhere to be found.
