Irahdah 🏰 Valcanne's Guide to Keltorin

The following is a brief historical record, about the Kingdoms surrounding Valcanne and has been written by King Raughn's first Master of knowledge Rickharton.

This historical record has been edited by King Raughn's current Master of Knowledge Eligeah, it has only been adjusted to correct any errors found and to add new information discovered.

Location and Land:

Irahdah is located to the far North West of Valcanne, it is situated on the same continent as the Kingdom of Almain but Irahdah lies further to the North West of their location.

The land in Irahdah is fertile, mainly around the rivers as you travel further away from the water source the land becomes drier and less useful for crop production.

The soil turns to sand the further North you travel, but the rivers create a tropical oasis that provides much needed relief from the blistering heat that's experienced in the long harsh summers.

Basic History:

Not a great deal is known of Irahdah's history we know that they had many wars with the Kingdom of Almain, several generations ago along with the Kingdom of Ralteith and Kurtah.

We have heard that Irahdah has had constant battles with the people of the Santel Plains, but we know very little about these battles or of the people of the Santel Plains.

Social Structure:

The social structure of Irahdah is extremely different from any of the Five Kingdoms of Balamy, they do not have a royalty as such.

Rather leaders control different areas of the country, these holdings are usually passed down from father to son but there are many fights and disputes - especially if the son is deemed unworthy of succession.

Like the Kingdom of Almain, Irahdah has a huge population and included amongst them are people of varying degrees of wealth and power.

Irahdah is well known for their long history of slavery, tales of lone travellers vanishing and never being seen or heard from again have spread through the Five Kingdoms as a warning - Irahdah is not a place to travel alone or unprepared.

Men have absolute power and dominance over women, many choosing to take several wives - the wealthier the man the more wives he takes, this is to show his excess wealth as women are essentially worthless yet can cost a lot to care for.

Relationships and Trade:

Little is known of Irahdah's trading partners and their relationships with other countries, what information we do have has mostly been provided by Almain.

What we do know is that Irahdah has had a turbulent and troubled past, with many different countries and peoples including Almain and Kurtah.

We have also heard of the constant bloody battles with the people of the Santel Plains, that still continue to this day.

As far as we are aware Irahdah's main trading partners are Almain and Kurtah, it would be a serious overstatement to say that these trading partners would be considered allies in any way - they are merely a means to obtaining what they want, without losing men in battle.

The People and their Skills:

The people of Irahdah vary greatly from region to region, though the basic truth is they are all dangerous.

Men fight to prove themselves and better their standing, women have adapted becoming manipulative and even sadistic to ensure their own survival.

The people are mainly known for their skill and fearlessness in combat, earning them the reputation of some of the best fighters on Keltorin.

Irahdah's relationship with the Gods:

We know nothing of their relationships or beliefs of the gods.

Summary:

In truth very little is known about Irahdah or it's people, most of our information is second hand from the Kingdom of Almain.

We do know they have had a turbulent history, often making war rather than peace - the people are known for their fighting skills and fearlessness on the battlefield.

They have trading partners in Almain and Kurtah, though these are used only to gain goods there is no true alliance amongst these countries.

It is a violent and volatile country travelling within Irahdah's borders, especially alone can quiet easily become a death sentence or see you a slave for the rest of your days - travel here should only be as a last resort.
