Cintar Seeds:
Appearance:
The Cintar tree is quite large in size, with a brown trunk and branches coupled with green leaves. It's most distinguishable feature is the large dark brown seed pods that grace it's branches.
The seed pods of the Cintar tree are thick, hard and around 10 cm's in length. Inside the pods are hundreds of small Cintar Seeds.
The Cintar Seeds themselves are deep blue in colour with a bright yellow stripe that runs along the length of the seeds. Once the pod is opened, you will also see a opaque congealed substance surrounding the seeds.
Dangers:
The Cintar plant, pods and seeds do not have any known dangers and is considered safe in regards to the consumption or handling of the plant. But one should always take care to prepare all herbs and medicines as per their directions, as unforeseen repercussions can occur when altering preparation methods.
Uses:
The Cintar Seeds only known use is to offer pain relief when made into a powder that is dissolved between the bottom lip and teeth.
Preparation:
Cintar Seed Powder:
Once you have located a Cintar Tree collect five of the pods, next using a knife separate the two halves of the pod along its length to expose the seeds contained within.
After all five pods have been split, scoop out the contents of the pods and collect in a deep bowl, discard the empty seed pods once this is completed.
Once all the seeds are collected add enough cold water, to allow the seeds and the surrounding substance to float on the surface.
Next using your fingertips gently agitate the water at the surface, to help separate the seeds from the substance that surrounds them.
As you continue the seeds will start to fall to the bottom of the bowl while the substance will float on the surface making it easier to separate the two.
Once you are sure you have freed all of the seeds, scoop out the floating substance and discard. Next strain away all water leaving you with just the seeds alone.
The Cintar Seeds then need to be dried, this can be done slowly over days, or if it is required urgently the seeds can be roasted over a fire to remove excess moisture - if using this method spread out the seeds and ensure they are roasted for at least two hours, otherwise they may be to moist when you need to grind them.
When the seeds are dried enough, gather them in a mortar and pestle and grind into a fine powder.
With the seeds powdered the person in need of pain relief, needs to insert a pinch of the powdered substance in between their bottom lip and teeth, and then allow it to dissolve - this can be repeated one powder has dissolved wait an hour before using more.
