This is my entry for @jayna's 50 word writing competition (usually run by @miniature-tiger). The prompt this week is spring.
NEON
An alien colony of spring shaped organisms fluoresce in the depths. They multiply and begin to grow stronger and larger. A satellite captures their glow, but no one can explain what it is. In time they will crawl on the land, move to consume all the light in our cities.
