'And never let me go' — 50 words short story (A #fiftywords challenge entry).

Hello readers, this is my first time participating in the Fifty Words Challenge, hosted by @jayna. It is also the first time I post something non related to music, and I'm eager to show you guys one of my other hobbies, writing. The prompt word for the challenge this time around is: pop.

The seemingly everlasting bond that kept Charles and Jennifer together had been dwindling lately.

‘Perhaps, this balloon ride over Paris could rekindle our love’ Charles thought. He opened a bottle of champagne. An overwhelmingly loud ‘pop’, shook them both.

Startled, they looked above, and held tight each other, once more.

Background.

The background of the story or, to be more precise, the idea behind this short story came to me as soon as I read the prompt word, and based it around the relationship my parents had when I was younger. They relationship was full of troubles and constant struggles so they became more and more distant to each other as time went by, and saddly it ended when my father died. It was in his last days that they both realized their mistakes and also, that they still loved each other, in their own way.

I hope you guys enjoy my story. Getting feedback would be lovely, since I'm willing to keep posting content like this and I want to learn how to be a better writer. Thanks, and please, if you could support me with an upvote or resteem, that would be lovely as well!
