One of the most interesting challenges I found here on Steemit, is the #fiftywords initiated by @jayna. Each week a new prompt is given and the Fifty Worders (or "the clan" 🙂) are supposed to write a 50 words short story (hitting exactly 50 words is even better). Also, being part of this amazing community, it means you should read, comment, upvote the work of the others...it's just like being part of a family.
You can become a member of the "clan" by entering the weekly challenge and supporting the others.
This week prompt is tear and below you can find my first submission.

The memory of that day was still fresh. She could almost feel the pain tearing apart her exhausted body. All she wanted was to sleep. But soon she heard his cry and saw his little hands. And all felt right. A tear went down her cheek welcoming the newborn child.
