Hi there and hello, fellow Steemians! ๐
It's time for a little update on the FITNESSCHALLENGE I joined. You can see all my original stats and pics... HERE and a little info on my health history HERE.
Two weeks ago I began tracking... well, everything.๐
Let's start with my ๐งwater๐ง intake.
Below is the chart I used. (Let me know if you'd like one for yourself!) Each little drop is about 20 ounces. I'm trying to drink close to my body weight in ounces. This should help clean me out. Should. ๐ I started off pretty strong, as you do.... I'm not really disappointed. The chart is helping. It's a constant reminder to hold myself accountable. (And yes, some of the drops appear drunk. Don't worry about it... ๐ )
๐ฅ Now a little peek at my food intake.๐ฅ
I knew that I needed to eat MORE food, but fewer calories. After looking at the chart, it's hard to understand why I'm not WAY more unhealthy. I think for this to get better I'm going to have to ... plan meals.๐จ We've done this before so it shouldn't be so daunting, but for some reason it is.
Here it is. Go ahead. Feel better about yourself. ๐
And finally, my exercise calendar.
When this started I was ONLY walking the dogs. I totally thought I was walking further than I was. ๐Luckily, @phelimint , who is also running this FITNESSCHALLENGE, told me about an easy to use app called mapmyfitness. It's pretty cool. Though it did show me some things I was sad to learn. ๐
I learned that one dog walk is a mere 1/2 mile, meaning I was only walking for 1 mile per day. I also learned that I only burn about 115 calories during the walk!
This made me start looking at the calories in the things I was eating... No wonder I was gaining weight!
I started doing Ki Yoga (most) every day. So that's pretty great. There has been a noticeable difference in my overall body movement since starting. I've also tried to incorporate dancing into the last couple of weeks, for you know, cardio. ๐ Surprisingly, I'm now able to get through more than 15 minutes without believing death is near. But 30 minutes still seems far away.
The hubs @chrisroberts suggested I do something easy like jumping jacks and increase the number everday. I'm starting that today. ๐ I'm also planning to get some strength training back into my schedule, with and without weights. Probably in the form of HIIT workouts.
Seriously, the biggest issue I'm having is attention span.
I get so darn bored and wanna do something else. Dancing is fun though and I literally have an endless supply of new videos to watch online.
I also found that stretching is rather important, even if I'm only going to walk the dogs. At the end of the first week I had injured my foot from not stretching my calves. I'm still a bit sore, but decided to keep on keeping on after one day of rest.

According to my scale and measuring tape (you can see the actual stats up on the WATER TRACKER), I lost a total of 2 lbs and 4 inches in the last two weeks.
I honestly don't FEEL like I've lost anything and was COMPLETELY terrified to weigh in and measure at the end of the week. I was sure I had failed myself. But... I didn't totally. I feel like I could have done MUCH better. Though I am improving all around, I'm not giving it my all. ๐
In conclusion, I'm pretty happy with myself, but not too much to start slackin' off. I'll hopefully do SOME kind of check in weekly and bi-weekly I'll do posts like this with all my stats updated. I'm so happy I have a community I feel comfortable in AND I get the support I (feel I) need. So thank you. All of you. ๐
