Happy Valentines Day!
Presenting a hidden gem I've been saving for a cold winter day. This photo album is part of a collection of photos taken in April 2019 when I visited the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden in Portland, Oregon.
Sometimes in Winter, and even on Valentines Day, people get a bit depressed because of the cold, lonely weather. I know I would rather be outside in the sun and nature to soak up some happy, healing energy, but that isn't going to happen this time of year. My hope is these flower photos might provide a ray of sunshine to turn the blues a bit more cheery pink for my viewers today.
In this collection I am sharing photos of the actual Rhododendron flowers up close.
Not for the feint of heart. People who are very sensitive are surely to experience a color rush. Overly romantic types would be wise to sit down and not operate a vehicle while driving. I will not be held accountable for sudden dramatic episodes of dizziness, swooning, or death by debonair distractions.
For your viewing pleasure, I've also marked each flower with made-up names.
Freckled Fuchsia.
Lavender eggshells.
Richly clustered and luminous
Violet Sparklers.
Flamingo Shrimp.
Strawberry Velvet.
Magenta Coral.
Coconut Hawaii.
Peaches and Cream.
Vanilla and blueberries.
Strawberry Shortcake.
Very unusual to find two different flower colors growing from the same tree. Once in a while a shrub hidden in the shadows will extend through the boughs of another, and reveal a contrasting flower color.
Cherry Blossom and Plum.
Easter Bonnet.
Pond Stars.
Strawberry Pancakes.
Pure Sunshine.
Punch.
Rice and Raspberries.
Pepperjack Apples.
(These flowers are my personal favorite.)
Antique Strawberry Creams.
Red Dragonfruit Delight.
Pink Panther.
Fairy Fresh.
Coconut Chip.
Thank you for viewing my collection of photos.
There are many more photos in this collection I will be soon releasing, and I have categorized them by topic.
