@adoore-eu ~ hello dear @edith4 angelseu

@edith4angelseu ~hello @adoore-eu. Finally am in your kitchen.

@adoore-eu ~ An honour to have you here. How do you do?

@ediths4angelseu ~ Am good. I like this place, and the music? It reminds me so much of my grand mother. She impacted strength of character and courage in me in the face of daunting challenges. But she died many years ago.

@adoore-eu ~ Wow, I wish she was here to hear you say this about her.

@edith4angelseu ~ Well, such is life.

@adoore-eu ~ Sure. Please do sit down. You are welcome to Saturday dining with @adoore-eu. My friends, readers and viewers are watching.
Can we meet you?

@edith4angelseu ~ Oh, wow, am on Tv? Well,
I am @edith4angelseu, a poet on steemit. I am also a mother of two grown up kids, teenagers actually.

@adoore-eu ~ Mother of teenagers. Good to know. Then there must be food in the kitchen all the time.

@edith4anelseu ~ Hahaha, you know it all.

@adoore-eu ~ Then tell us, whats your favourite meal?

@edith4angelseu ~ My favourite meal is rice, anyhow you cook it. But I particularly love 'oil rice' also known as 'concoction rice', just the way my grandma used to make it.

@adoore-eu ~ Hahaha. Concoction rice! This is typical of people from our area, right?

@edith4angelseu ~ Ah, thats my best o. I grew up with my grandma, how on earth will she make fried rice or that your spaghetti bolognese?

Both laughing ~ Hahahahaha

@edith4angelseu ~ Everyone has their unique style of cooking, from the local woman in the rural area to the international chef in a 5 star Hotel. Taste is everything and believe me, I love good food, very tasty meals. But that concoction rice? Its my best. It brings back memories and bond I had with my grandma.

@adoore-eu ~ Oh dear, no wonder you rocked that music too Ochie Dike Mama.

@edith4angelseu ~ Yes, my grandma was my everything. I adore her.

@adoore-eu ~ Did Mama ever allow you to cook? At what age?

@edith4angelseu ~ Yes, at age Seven. This is what transpired. In form of a poem , it goes like this:

Grandma says cook me a dish

Too bad grandma, I can't even
cook

Oh my girl you are seven, that's not good enough

You are old enough to cook me a dish

She grabs the pot

And lights the fire

Oh yeah, you must cook me a dish today

So I grab a knife, not even sure

If I could cook Her a dish at all

I cut the onion in several rings

As I often see her do

I grind the crayfish and pepper too

With rice on the fire

And my heart in my mouth

I utter a prayer to God above

For I need grandma to relish my dish

Oh no, no salt in this meal at all

So many recipes in my brain

But making them was no joke at all

Tears from the smoke

Of the cooking wood

would make me cry a several times

With trembling hands
Dish after dish

I would tirelessly try to do something new

Till One day when grandma said

You are the best cook I ever knew

Diced, spiced, peppered, onioned

I make them best, the way you like

@adoore-eu ~ Wow, So today I got my food poem. I have always longed for it. You are an inspiration.

@edith4angelseu ~ Thank you. Thats is like a summary of what transpired between grandma and I, so many years back. And I have her to thank for my culinary skills.

@adoore-eu ~ Hmm. So, tell us, what was your first mistake in the kitchen?

@edith4angelseu ~ Hahaha.... When I used granulated sugar in place of salt. And I had spent so much to make that soup because I was expecting some guests. In fact, the memory lingers. You could imagine the horror when I tasted the food and discovered this costly mistake. It was terrible

@adoore-eu ~ Hahaha. We all have our mistakes the first time. So if asked to choose, what meal would you enjoy making everyday?

@edith4angelseu ~ I eat rice everyday, with lots of crayfish and cucumbers, especially the 'concoction' type.

@adoore-eu ~ You are really serious with this concoction rice. Well, we dont have concoction rice in our restaurant but because we have the culture of making the favourite meal of our guest, We will joggle something.

@adoore-eu moves to the cooking corner to quickly make concoction rice as they converse.@edith4angelseu followed.

@adoore-eu ~ What were you afraid of the first
time you cooked?

@edith4angelseu ~ I cooked my first meal at age 7. Grandma saw to that. I was so afraid of salt that I refused to add it the very first time. The second time, I over salted

@adoore- eu ~ Hahahahaha. OMG. I am sure you then got it at the third attempt. Hahaha. But whats your advice for our kitchen?

@edith4angelseu ~You are doing so great and I have tasted a lot of your dishes, they are wonderful. I even go home and make some I find new. The intercontinental types are the ones I find challenging sometimes , you know I am a village girl, wasn't opportuned to learn them.
Years back, a Chinese friend took me to a restaurant and ordered from the menu. I ordered rice and plantain. When his food was brought, I discovered there were a lot of 'worms' and I almost threw up. Today, we call them noodles but back then I hadn't seen them before, so they were 'worms' to me and I am just being taught how to enjoy them by my children. So you see, I am old school.
I love the way you make your dishes, very attractive and appetizing. Good job adoore. I love crayfish and catfish... Cucumbers too. I would like to see more of vegetable-based soups, fruit salads, even the local rice dishes. They would be wonderful additions any time

@adoore-eu ~ Hahahaha. You call noodles worms?? You are really old School.

Talking about Old School, viewers did you know that we both went to the same Secondary School, Come from the same town and She lives not far from my family house in the my hometown? I recently discovered all these about her, meanwhile, I have always known her on steemit for almost eight months. Its a small World.
@edith4angelseu ~ Yes o. How come we havent spoken our language?

@adoore-eu ~ Ah, my friends wont understand but let me just use it to invite you to eat your food. Its ready.

Speaking Agbor, Ika language, Delta
@adoore-eu ~ De ri ihiori. O ghe gwo
@edith4angelseu ~O ghe gwo? Ndooh nwenem

@doore-eu interprets. I only asked her to come eat her food , for its ready and she asked: is it ready? Oh thanks my sister. Hahahaha.

@edith4angelseu ~ @ Wow, adoore, this meal is piquant and saporous. I could finish three plates.

@adoore-eu ~ Hahahaha. Pls eat. Here is more cucumber for you.

If i ask you, how much will you be willing to pay for this meal if compelled to?

@edith4angelseu ~ This food is worth much more than what I can pay for it. See, growing up in the village with my grandma afforded me the opportunity to enjoy delicacies like this and make them superbly. She would use local spices and lots of crayfish, she would even add 'ogiri' to it ,to enhance its taste. When you taste, you will bite off your fingers licking them. I could pay whatever price is tagged on it pls.

@adoore-eu ~ Hahaha. I appreciate you. I learnt a lot from you, especially appreciation for your grand mother. Passing legacy to our kids is not only about richness, inheritance and formal education.

@edith4angelseu ~ No , Character is everything.
Thank you so much for inviting me to this great program. Am humbled.

@adoore-eu ~Its such a great honour to have such an icon in poetry like you in my kitchen. Thanks so much. Have a safe trip back. Kind regards to our people.

Ndooh, alua. ( Thanks and welcome).

ADVENTUROUS EATERS
These people adventured and ate something new, hear their experiences:

Mister XX ~ .My friend ate fish cuttings with
mayonnaise and ordered for more. I had only a spoon out of mine and hurried to the rest room and threw up there. One man's meet is really another man's poison.

Miss JC: Hell was let loose the first day i tasted Gbanu soup. The blackness of the soup is irritating. I heard it is a nutritious soup and helps to cleanse the body but I find it so irritating. Besides, the first time i tried it, I stooled throughout the night and so vowed never to take anymore.

@adoore-eu ~ Hahahaha.

BEST CUSTOMER CHALLENGE

JOKES

Common Sense...

My boss thinks I am a fool. Yesterday he sent me to buy 4kg of sugar but I only found 2kg at the shops so I didn't buy. But when I went to the office to give him feed back, he was very pissed at me, he asked :" why didn't you use your brain and buy two 2kg packs to make a total of 4kg?.

Today , again he had sent me to buy a pair of Size 12 slippers for him. I only found Size 6. This time I had to use my brain, I bought 2 pairs of Size 6 to make Size 12. I took them to him & he just told me to wait outside. Am so happy. I used my brain.

I can see him typing.

I guess it's a promotion letter...

@adoore-eu ~ Hahahahahaha. Promotion indeed.
