Roast Poussin.

Last nights dinner wasn't the usual fare for a wednesday night but with the 2 poussin only costing £1 each it cost us more to get the salad and stuffed mushroom.

I put the two birds in a roasting dish with a knob of butter, salt and pepper and then a diced red onion and cooked them for a little over an hour.

Next I diced up 4 or 5 small plums and fried them off in a pan until they started to soften and then added some veggie stock. after about 15 minutes I then added a spoonfull of marmalade and simmered for a further 15 minutes.

The mushrooms came premade and were just cooked for 20 minutes and the salad just thrown together before I began to plate up the dinner.

And there you go, posh looking grub for a bargain price.
