This how to video is an excellent example of what I was working towards today
Once I gathered and clipped my cuttings I soaked the stems in water to keep them fresh and so they may better hold rooting powder. I also pre-watered the potting soil as to not effect the rooting mixture.
Dowse the stems base inch in rooting powder.
I bought mine in a store but they can be made naturally

Puncture a hole in the potting soil, pack the soon to be sapling in tight, then powder with mulch.
