Breakfast 01 : Tosai - the health conscious alternative food for breakfast

Tosai is one of the Indian cuisine available for a healthy breakfast. It is made of rice and black gram. It is one of the main food in southern India. As there are quite a big population of Indian live in Malaysia, this indian cuisine is available all over Malaysia. But for some reason due to preparation, it is available only from morning up to certain time in the afternoon.

Note : some literature mentioned Tosai, tosei, and dosa. They all refer to the same foot. Read from this link for More information about tosai

Egg is also a healthy diet for the body to rebuild energy. So I decided to have a double telur mata in bahasa Malaysia, it meant fried egg in bull eye ( I hope I got this right ). Although the healthier way to prepare eggs is to boil it full or half boil. In this case, I asked for light oil fried egg instead.

I normally take Tosai with light fried egg as a set for my breakfast if I decided to avoid Chinese typical noodle food for a change.

It is a privilege to live in Malaysia for a wide variety of food. Besides the three major cuisine from the 3 major population in Malaysia, the are also foreign cuisine like American, European, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (China), Thai, Vietnamese, Hong Kong, fast food chains and others.

I do take foreign cuisine once a while but I still like the local food.

My breakfast will not complete without a glass of nescafe tarik, a common coffee available here. The word tarik means "pull". It is a typical way to pour the coffee from the top to a container as opposed to stir the coffee. It is believe that the coffee is smoother after repeated a few pulls.

Can you share your breakfast preference?

Cheers
