Summer Dessert: Mung Bean Cake 夏日消暑小吃-绿豆糕

Hi steemians:

Today I want to share with you delicious summer dessert--mung bean cakes. This is Chinese traditional dessert relieveing heat in summer, and every summer I will make some mung bean cakes for my child.
Last summer, I made some mung bean cakes with Northern style, that means I didn't add any oil to it, only mung beans and sugar. This time, I made these mung bean cakes with some butter and honey, tastes not only soft but also tender and smooth. This may be different flavor according to food habits in the South and the North.
The middle green cakes was added some matcha, doesn't that look like cakes which was made from unpeeled mung beans ? Of cause, you can add other ingredients whatever you like to enhance its different flavor.

In short, if you taste mung bean cake in this hot summer, you will feel very cool. I think this is also a great pleasure.

Instructions:

1)wash and soak mung beans, I usually soak the beans overnight.
2)steam mung beans for about 40 minutes.
3)mash the beans.
4)heat a non-sticky pan, add in butter, and then add in mung beans, fry it for a while and add in some sugar and honey until they are smooth and mix well.
5)remove it to a bowl, sift it in order to taste better.
6)keand it using your hand and divide it into many balls.
7)put the ball into mould and press it.

每年夏天,我都会做一些绿豆糕给孩子吃。
绿豆不仅具有止渴消暑,清热解毒等功效,而且对皮肤还特别好。

去年盛夏,我做了京式绿豆糕,没有加任何油脂,材料只有绿豆和糖。松松软软的口感很清淡。今年做的绿豆糕跟上次略有不同,这次加入了少许黄油和蜂蜜,吃起来不仅松软更加细腻。这或许就是我国南北方饮食习惯不同而出现的不同口味吧。
中间绿色的那个是我加了一点点抹茶粉,做了几个抹茶味的,看着是不是像没脱皮的绿豆糕呢,哈哈。如果你喜欢还可以加一些自己喜欢的其他配料,比如水果味的,可可味的等等。

总之,在这闷热的夏天,来一块清凉的绿豆糕,不仅能使你感受到一丝凉意,还能增进你的食欲,也是一大乐事呢。

原料:

脱皮绿豆 500g
黄油 100g
糖 50g
蜂蜜 50g

做法:

1)绿豆先洗净浸泡24小时。(我买的是脱皮的绿豆)
2)浸泡好的绿豆放入蒸锅蒸熟,我蒸了大约40分钟。
3)蒸好的绿豆(压成)捣成绿豆泥。因为蒸的特别软,所以几下很容易就捣好了。
4)取一只不粘锅,然后放入黄油加热,再把绿豆泥放入锅中,不停的翻炒,期间加入少许糖和蜂蜜,口味根据自己喜欢程度来酌情增减糖和蜂蜜的用量。
5)炒到黄油和糖与绿豆泥充分融合,关火。
6)过筛,过筛后的绿豆糕口感更绵密顺滑。
7)过筛后的绿豆泥分割成若干小球,放入模具,压成美丽的花纹即可。
