Greetings, Steem Blockchain!

Lillian and I headed out on our first night in Beijing to find some Arabic food! I haven't had any since I was back in Canada; more than 3 years ago. Don't get me wrong: I love Chinese food. Sooner or later, you will most likely crave some food that you haven't had in a while. My parents are from Syria and Lebanon, so for me, I really missed eating Arabic food.

The first restaurant we went to was closed for renovations, but that was a good thing because I think the next restaurant we went to is much better.

The name of this restaurant is A Thousand and One Nights Restaurant; located in the Sanlitun District of Beijing. This area contains many foreign shops and amenities.

The interior decoration of this restaurant is top-notch. As you can see from the first image, they really put a lot of work to make this look like a traditional structure that can be found in Syria.

The restaurant is pretty loud. Every night they have belly dancers perform at the front and I had this transcendental feeling when I started hearing classic Arabic songs. I definitely needed a getaway like this. In fact, I almost cried as I was absorbing the aura of this place, because it reminded me of how much I truly love Syria and my own Arabic culture.

The owner of this restaurant is Syrian, just like me, and I loved browsing through the menu, reminiscing of all the food I used to eat back in Canada and in Syria.

We ordered the following dishes:

Tabouleh

Beef Curry

Hummus

The food was quite delicious. I don't think I will ever truly taste Arabic food that is on the same level as what I used to eat in Syria, but this assortment definitely satiated me. The food tasted very similar to the food I ate in Arabic restaurants in Canada. Satiating, flavourful and authentic... But it was still lacking a little bit when compared to Syrian standards hahah.
