If you still buy fruit yogurts and desserts for kids (such as Danonino), you should be aware of what you eat and give to your children. They contain large amounts of rafined sugar, food colors and synthetic vitamins.Β
I prepared vegan and sugar free strawberry millet βcreamβ. You can do it in a few minutes and will be sure that you give your child a healthy, nutritious dessert.
Ingredients:
- Β½ glass of uncooked millet or 1 glass of cooked millet*
- approximately 2 glasses of vegetable milk
- fresh or frozen strawberries (you can choose other fruits instead, for instance raspberries)
- 1 tablespoon of unrefined coconut oil
- a pinch of Himalayan salt
- sweetener (as you prefer): maple/date syrup or xylitol/erythritol (for children older than 3 years old).Β
- You can also use soaked dates.Β
* You can use millet than you have left from your breakfast or dinner.Β
Preparation:
Roast the millet for a moment in a dry pot. Then rinse it under water. Pour in vegetable milk or water, add salt and cook until the millet completely absorbs the liquid. If necessary, add more milk. Then cool the millet.Β
Put the strawberries in a blender and mix. Then gradually add the millet, oil and the sweetener. Blends it thoroughly. Taste the cream and add more sweetener, if necessary. Put the cream into bowls and decorate with fresh or dried fruits. Serve at once or cool in the fridge.
Store the cream in the fridge. You can serve it for your child for breakfast or lunch or as a snack in between of meals. Β
Bless you!
