Impress the Tastebuds of Mere Mortals with Double-Barreled Phoenix Dip!

Let your party be reborn through the legendary fire of the phoenix! But not just any phoenix, imbue your dip with the double-barreled righteousness of a flying fire-God equipped with twin barrels of meat and sauce sure to set ablaze to all tastebuds!

Summoning A Mythical Beast

That's right fellow steemers, we're making a legendary dip today. One so simple and easy you'll wonder why you never did it sooner. Go forth, and gather thine ingredients! You'll need the following to complete your quest:

  • 13 oz can of chicken
  • 1/4 cup Ranch Dressing
  • 1/4 cup Buffalo Hot Sauce of Choice
  • 1/4 lb of Bacon
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • An appropriate serving vector, like tortilla chips

Now, hard part first. Cook the bacon until it's nice and crispy. We can start this process while we work with the other ingredients.

Open the can of chicken, drain the water, and empty it into a suitable mixing container. Make sure your container is bigger than you think you'll need, this stuff tends to double in volume when we hit the next step. Rinse out the can and SAVE IT. If you continue following my DIY posts, we'll be using it in the future. Trust me.

Shred the chicken by mashing it with a fork. This is the WHOLE reason why you want to use the canned stuff. It shreds perfectly and is the secret to making this dip in just a few minutes.

Next, gather up your ranch, buffalo or hot sauce, and cream cheese.

Measure your sauce and cheese, and add it all to the chicken. Don't worry about mixing yet.

Microwave it all for about a minute on high, this should soften the cheese quite a bit. Ok, NOW mix it all up.

Put it back in the microwave for another minute on high. Finish cooking your bacon, and SAVE THE GREASE! Just like the can for the chicken, it'll come in handy in a future tutorial. Just make sure you let it cool a little, and add it to a glass or other suitable container that won't melt when you add hot grease to it.

Mix your dip one final time to incorporate all the cream cheese, and transfer your shredded chicken-and-cheese goodness to a serving bowl. Crush the bacon and throw it on top. Get ready to deliver that mythic beast with some tortilla chips because your Phoenix dip is DONE!

Get some friends together, and enjoy it while doing something awesome, like recording an episode of the Steemit Talk Podcast, playing board games, or cheering for your sports team of choice. Enjoy your life, because life is pretty awesome, especially when Phoenix dip is involved.

Notes From A Fellow Summoner

  • If you want a dip that's ready in less than five minutes, skip the bacon, or have some pre-cooked and at the ready. So long as you have the rest of the ingredients available, this can be ready in a flash. Perfect for sudden gatherings.
  • If you're serving more than 4 people (or two if served as a meal), I HIGHLY suggest making a double batch. This stuff is deceptively delicious and will absolutely disappear once served.
  • If you don't use cream cheese often, most brands offer little tick marks on the side of the package to aid in measuring. Each tick mark is 1 oz. I got your back.
  • Feel free to improve the recipe with more hot-sauce or other spices. They aren't necessary, but the phoenix will appreciate your mastery of spice and fire.
