I came here in a very simple way. Once I got the hotel for the trip I started looking for burger places in the area and it immediately appeared in a couple of google results the name "Charm City Burger Company". Even on Trip Advisor he was currently ranked # 1 of all restaurants in the city. Which is no small thing, people vote for real. It has more than 200 positive reviews and against that you can not go, I never understood people who think that on the internet the comments are all fixed, it is quite unrealistic that.
I have always been very well paying attention to the comments of people regarding hotels, food, etc. Even buying on Amazon (my other great passion), when I buy a product I do not know I pay attention to people's scores, it does not fail. You have to see the overall score, look for products or places that have many comments, you do not have to be guided by a single person who thought it was bad, the same as everyone else seemed great or vice versa. If you listen to the majority, generally gives good result. And this place was a test more than that, it was excellent in every way.
The first thing to say is that the place is just that, there is no other branch, it is not a chain and it looks like a family business. I went on a Friday night and it was packed, they passed music and despite being a small place there were several large groups and quite a bit of noise in general. It seemed as if everyone knew each other, even as if the customers already knew the attendants, something that in the big chains obvious does not happen. It is a place, it gave me the impression, as a localist who attends more than anything those of the area and as if they were all habitués. I confess that at first I felt like a toad from another well, I was the only one who was alone and above taking pictures I looked at a few strange people but after a while, incredibly, I realized that at a table near me there were two guys Argentines with some American girls in what seemed clearly a double date. They are the ones that appear in the following photo, bottom right:
Enough of nuts, let's go to the food: I ordered a "Cowboy Style" that brings cheddar, bacon, mushrooms and sauteed onion. In addition all hamburgers include (but can be taken out) lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles and the secret sauce of the place. One thing that struck me was that the top of the first bread was the tomato and the onion and then the hamburger, the cheese, the bacon, the pickles and the rest, that kept the sandwich heavily armed during the process. Go eat it Which adds to the experience. The second time I went I asked for a "Good Ole" which is like the standard of the place and I put Swiss cheese on it. It was a little better the first.
The burger was awesome, it seemed homemade inside everything, very good size and light. I finished eating it with the potatoes without feeling anything heavy. You can order in 3 cooking points, I went with the intermediate and I think I never had a hamburger so juicy ... there was literally a puddle of juice in the tray (there is a photo of that). It had a touch of spice, like with pepper, which did not bother me but another person might not like it and as two days later I went back (a while before leaving for the airport) there I realized that somewhere Of the menu clarified that to the bacon they put pepper to him (well that they clarify it). The bacon was thick, crispy. And exactly the same thing I could say about the pickles, they had a great taste in the sandwich, they were very strong and sour. Anyone who does not like it should take them out at the time of ordering or they will leave their flavor in the whole hamburger if he removes them after once he receives the food.
It is cheap and abundant, both the sandwich and the accompaniments that can be potato chips, french fries, onion rings, tater tots and several other things. I spent about 10 dollars and for the same price as a soda they make the sandwich in combo and they "give away" a large portion any of the sides there is to order. The second time I went I ordered the tater tots, very excited but I did not like them very much, I even left them because they were half bland and from there I was going to the airport. I was not sure what they were but I was tempted to see them there the first time, they are like breaded croquettes. The chips I ordered the first time were really good. Spice them with some spice or mixture of them. I loved the potatoes, in the photos they are obscured by the condiments
There is no place to leave the car but there is a Publix with a giant parking lot so I left the car there and I do not think anything happens. Respect to the place for me has the whole wave, has a look like "cheap but stylish", and also the people who had both times were people with wave, many surfer type pibes, groups of friends and several beautiful girls 🙂 (I went A Friday night and a Sunday at noon). In the middle of the room there is a long "communal" table. The location is small, has few tables but quite close to each other and even a couple outside on the street, free WiFi and is close to US1 and Hillsboro Blvd., very close to the beach too.
